When and where does the race take place?
The 50th Annual Easter Beach Run is on Saturday, April 15, 2016.  The race course begins on the hard-packed sands of Daytona Beach near the Daytona Beach Bandshell adjacent to the Ocean Walk Shoppes at 250 North Atlantic Avenue (A1A).  Registration opens at 6:30 a.m.  The 4 mile race is schedule to start at 8:00 a.m., the 2 mile is scheduled for 9:15 a.m. and the Kids Races begin at 10:00 a.m.

What is the Easter Beach Run? 
This festive, Easter-themed beach run was established in 1967 by The City of Daytona Beach. The race was first held on Easter Sunday to provide an activity for visiting college students and is now the longest consecutive footrace in the state of Florida.  Participants enjoy a scenic run on the World’s Most Famous Beach while traveling out and back for the 4-mile race, 2-mile fun run or health walk. Kids are also welcome to participate in the 1/4-mile race, 100 and 50-yard dash. 

How will I be timed?  
There will be large digital clocks at the turn around and at the finish line. Each runners’ bib has a race chip in it for individual timing.

Can I use my own race chip or tag rather than utilizing the one that is provided?
Sorry no, all participants receive a personal race bib with chip attached to it. 

When and where do I pick up my registration materials?

If you would like to pick up your race packet early on Thursday, April 13th head to the Happy Hour Packet Pick-Up party at Mai Tai’s located at 250 N. Atlantic Ave from 4pm to 7pm and enjoy a special happy hour at the bar! Or on Friday, April 14th the pre-race packet pick up will be held at Dales Shoes which is located at 2596 West International Speedway Blvd, Daytona Beach from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Race day packet pickup will begin on Saturday at 7:00am at the Daytona Beach Oceanfront Bandshell behind Ocean Walk Shoppes and the Hilton.

Where do I find race results?
Official results are posted for the top runners in each category on race day, race staff has all results for on-site inquiries and results are posted on the race website. 

What should I wear?
Clothes. But Easter Bunny ears, tails and festive gear is preferred.  Most participants wear athletic gear and sneakers are required.

Who gets a T-shirt?
Only pre-registered runners that successfully complete the registration and payment processes seven weekdays before the race are guaranteed a free race t-shirt. Several hundred additional shirts are printed for the race. Pre-registered runners in the seven days leading to the race are first to receive their shirt and preferred size. The remaining shirts for walk-up and voucher runners are available until they run out. Also, day-of participants may face limited sizes and availability.

What if I need help along the way?
Certified emergency medical professionals are available to provide assistance at the start/finish lines.   

Can I participate in the event with my dog?
Sorry, as much as we love our pets too, the safety of participants is our main concern. Therefore, we do not allow pets on the course.

Can I participate with a stroller?
Yes, nurturing future generations of runners is a priority and demonstrating healthy lifestyles to our kids is special. Please, however, start in the later part of the runners.  

What do I do with my personal items while I’m running?
You can leave your items at a drop-off station, located near the start line.  Look for the "Drop-off" sign near the registration booth.  Sponsored by Daytona Track Club

Should I bring my own water?
We have 2 water stations for the 4 mile race and 1 water station for the 2 mile race with plenty of water at the finish.

How do I register?
Online registration is preferred. In-person registration is available at Daytona Beach City Hall - Cultural Services until March 11th. “Day of race pricing” registration will be available at prerace packet pickup and on site race day.  Sorry no checks will be accepted after March 11th.

How much does it cost?
Pre-registration for the 2 mile or 4 mile race is $30. Registration after March 11th is $35. Pre-registration for the Kids races (50yd/100yd/1/4 mile) is $15 per race. Kid’s registration after March 11th is $20. 

I will be out of town on race day and not able to participate. Can I get my money returned?
We appreciate your race registration. We will not issue refunds. We are not in a position to credit your credit card or issue checks. 

Will the race be held if it's raining?
The race is a "rain or shine" event. All participants are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather, such as in a rain coat or hat. Umbrellas can pose a safety hazard to others, so please do not bring them.  

What will be provided after the race?
Commemorative participation medals will be given at the finish line.  The awards ceremony will be in the Daytona Beach Bandshell where 1st, 2nd and 3rd place overall winners of the 2 mile and 4 mile races will be awarded. Placement awards will be given the 1st place male and female winner of each age group.  The “Kids Races” participation awards will be handed out to all children runners with bibs immediately following their races on the beach, one medal per child.

Can I transfer my entry to someone else?
We have a no transfer policy.

Where do I park?
The Historic Daytona Beach Bandshell is behind the Ocean Walk Shoppes. Parking is available in the Ocean Center Parking Garage for a special flat rate of $5.00, across from the Ocean Walk Shoppes. Additional parking includes City of Daytona Beach lots, metered spots on nearby city streets, and in private lots near Main Street.
